What is Neurofeedback?

Neurofeedback is a form of biofeedback which takes electrical impulses from the brain and creates a unique therapeutic protocol, based on the data received, to improve brain function.

How does it work?

By placing an electrode cap on the head, we are able to detect subtle electrical impulses given off by the brain. These electrical impulses are then amplified, providing the Neurofeedback monitor with the information needed to generate an individualized training program.

Then, it is simply a matter of the brain “training” itself to prefer the desired range of frequencies through a simple reward-based training program. When your brain produces frequencies in the desired range, it will be rewarded, effectively conditioning your brain to prefer desirable frequencies on its own.

What can it treat?

Neurofeedback can be used to relieve stress with many conditions, including:

– ADHD              – Depression              – Anxiety

– Headaches and Migraines        – Chronic Pain

– Autism    – Sleep Disorders    – TBI / Concussion

*Neurofeedback can also help improve physical and cognitive performance.

Is it safe?

Yes, Neurofeedback training is non-invasive and drug-free. Neurofeedback equipment only receives data from your brain. Any changes made to your brain will come from your brain itself.

Before beginning the Neurofeedback itself, we will conduct a QEEG Brain Map assessment to get an informative look at how your brain is functioning. Following the initial assessment, Neurofeedback training will be conducted at least once weekly. The number of Neurofeedback sessions required will vary between individuals, however, 20-30 sessions is average. Call us at (405) 816-7735 or Enquire Online to See How We Can Help You.
